The recalled guacamole products were distributed throughout California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
The positive Listeria test was discovered on 2 packages of guacamole, out of many samples that were collected for the FDA’s random sample testing program.
No illnesses have been reported. Some of the products that were recalled are past their expiration date and no longer available in stores. However, symptoms of Listeria infection may not appear for up to 70 days after a person eats a contaminated food product.
The “Use-By” dates range from November 10, 2017 through December 19, 2017. The date is located on white sticker on the bottom label of package.The following products were recalled:

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause food poisoning illnesses in a person who eats contaminated food. The symptoms of infection with Listeria may include fever, muscle aches, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or diarrhea.
Listeria frequently spreads to the nervous system and causes meningitis. The symptoms of this life-threatening complication include headache, stiff neck or confusion. Pregnant women may suffer a miscarriage, stillbirth, birth defects, or infection of the newborn baby.
